Using a holistic approach to
improving wellness and well-being.

Diane’s interest in the more esoteric aspects of the journey of life didn’t really begin until the early 90’s when she and her husband  began to learn mantra based meditation, thinking it would be a good skill to have when raising children.  However, the meditation itself wasn’t enough.  It was only when the physicality of a yoga practice was added that her meditation experiences deepened. The ability to become still and more internally focused was more achievable .

Diane had always been interested in yoga but it wasn’t until not long after her second daughter was born, in 1997, that she tried out a class.   Stressed and suffering back problems yoga helped to release tension and move her towards a more relaxed state. By moving her body physically, developing breath awareness and by turning her focus inward she was being asked to notice and become aware of herself physically, mentally and emotionally and eventually spiritually.

Diane’s first job was as a laboratory technician with BP Chemicals way back in the 1980’s and later on progressed to become an analytical chemist with BP Oil.  Teaching yoga didn’t begin until 2002 when her then yoga teacher suggested she would make a good teacher.  Little did Diane know that six months later she would be teaching this class.  In 2005 she graduated from the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) NZ Teachers training course with a Teachers’ Diploma passing with distinction.  Her specialty area has always been in relaxation and the use of simple tools to de-stress and let go.  To allow the body to become quiet then invites the mind to follow.  Twenty plus years have now passed and a passion for the more psychological aspects of the mind has developed along with a love of the emerging field of ‘science and spirituality’, energy psychology, and the more subtle aspects of yoga - we are so much more than the physical body and mind.

Over the years she has explored, as a student, Reiki, the Feldenkrais technique and Qigong,  these have all influenced her teaching.  Recent teacher trainings have included ‘Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra, as well as ‘Chair Yoga’ and ‘Yoga for Seniors’.   In 2009 Diane began reaching out into other western areas of spirituality as an extension to the spiritual teachings of the East.   Numerology and Tarot cards are two of the modalities that interest her along with how science is now beginning to prove what the Eastern Mystics knew about centuries ago. The other age old teaching that Diane loves to promote is to have a laugh, have some fun, and retain your sense of humour especially if times get tough.
